Meet resolves to install Biyash's statue

Bishnupur, May 02 2025: Biyash Ningthoujam Memorial Trust organised a public meeting at Maibam Lotpa Ching market shed on Friday and resolved to erect a Statue of Biyash Ningthoujam in recognition of laying down his life for upholding the territorial integrity of Manipur and shielding the Meeteis from Kuki narco terrorists.

Speaking at the meeting, Trust secretary Nameirakpam Adison opined that not installing statue in honour of Biyash Ningthoujam would be dishonour to the family and a loss for the people of the land.

Biyash's father Ningthem, while reflecting on his son s sacrifice for the people, alleged that Bishnupur Forest Division is hindering installation of a statue of his son.

He then appealed to the people to support the move for erecting the statue.

The meeting further resolved to go ahead with installation of Biyash Ningthoujam s statue.

The meeting was attended by people from Maibam Chingmang, Chingning, Kabui Khul and Nambol along with trust chairman Taorem Khaba Khuman, Maibam Kabui Khul village chief Pk Maipak Gangmei and Nambol Apunba Nupi Lup assistant secretary L Sumila.
