RIMS urologist delivers lecture at BAUS 2025

Imphal, June 30 2025: Regional Institute of Sciences (RIMS) Urology Department associate professor Dr Khumukcham Somarendra participated in the 80th Annual Meeting of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) 2025, held from June 16 to 18 at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, England, United Kingdom.

He was invited as a Faculty Speaker by the BAUS president and was part of a nine-member Indian faculty delegation comprising the president and secretary of the Urological Society of India (USI), along with other faculty members from various parts of India.

Dr Somarendra delivered a talk on the topic, "Is TURP becoming obsolete in the era of Advanced Lasers and MISTs", focusing on emerging surgical treatments for prostate enlargement, a common condition among the elderly.
