Kakching, June 29 2025:
The ongoing cleansing/dredging of the drainage system along NH 137 (A) at Kakching Bazar using de-silting machines continues under the joint initiative of Kakching Municipal Council (KMC), district administration, police, Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association (KBBWA), All Kakching Clubs' Coordinating Committee and various CSOs.
The clean-up programme commenced on June 25 with Kakching deputy commissioner Rohit Anand and KMC caretaker chairperson Naorem Sanjitku-mar flagging off the team from Kakching Super Market.

Addressing a press meet at Kakching Bazar on Saturday, KBBWA president Yengkhom Rajendra appealed to authorities concerned to permit use of the de-silting machines provided to KMC by Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) till completion of the dredging/ cleansing activities, as manual removal of the thick grasses and other viscous materials would be exhaustive.
The press conference was also attended by representatives of Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO), KBBWA and All Kakching Clubs' Coordinating Committee.
