Imphal, July 03 2025: Forest Department, in collaboration with 86th Bn CRPF, celebrated the 76th Van Mahotsav, 2025 with a mass tree plantation drive at Thoubal Khunou.

The event was attended by Thoubal deputy commissioner Hannah Kahmei, Thoubal SP RK Amarjit Shivanand Surve, 86 Bn CRPF assistant commandant Kamei James Rongmei, Thoubal Municipal Council ward no 18 councillor Moirangthem Ravi Singh and Thoubal Forest Division divisional forest officer Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee.

As part of the initiative, over 2000 saplings were planted by CRPF personnel, forest staffers, police officers, school students, and local residents.

The plantation drive emphasised the importance of ecological restoration and public participation in environmental protection, said statement issued by 86th Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat.
