Chandel, May 17 2025: Non-Communicable bisease (NCD) Cell Chandel, in collaboration with the District Health Society, Chandel, observed World Hypertension Day 2025 at the Chandel District Hospital conferencehall on Saturday.

The observance held under the theme "Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer" was attended by Chandel CMO Dr Joyson Matthew Monsang, NCD Cell Chandel district nodal officer Dr Laishram Deben Singh and Chandel District Hospital medical superintendent Dr Serbum Shakchung Moyon as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Medical officers of District Health Society Chandel, ANMs and staff of Chandel District Hospital and ASHA workers were also present at the occasion.

Dr Laishram Deben spoke on Hypertension on the occasion highlighting its risks and the importance of early detection.

A screening camp for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) was also conducted during the programme.

In addition, free hypertension screening services were provided at the Community Health Centre in Chakpikarong, various Primary Health Centres across Chandel district and at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) as part of the function.
