Health Services team inspects Kakching CHC

Kakching, July 16 2025: A team of Directorate of Health Services led by additional director Dr N Bino re-visited the Kakching Community Health Centre (CHC)/District Hospital (DH), on Tuesday to oversee preparation for a new operation theatre and other requirements of the hospital.

As per the instruction of Directorate of Health Services, the team comprising Dr N Bino, joint director (planning) Dr Y Premchan-dra, deputy directors Dr Mickey & Dr Homendro, Health Department Engineering Cell staffers and other sections, along with Kakching chief medical officer Dr Thaodem Rajen and staff members inspected the new OT construction site, followed by discussion on the OT project, manpower and infrastructure necessary, and issues besieging the hospital in treatment of patients due to lack of resources.

According to Dr Prem-chandra, process are underway for establishment of the new OT by repairing the old building as per design specifications provided by the Quality Assurance Team and final approval by the government.

He also opined that the health sector in the state is facing shortage of manpower, consequently necessitating adjustments to address the same.

Mention may be made that a team led by health services director Dr Chambo Gonmei had visited the hospital on July 10 for assessing feasibility of setting up the new OT .
