CRPF unit holds anti-drug outreach campaign

E Coy of 112 Bn CRPF organised a one-day youth outreach campaign under the nationwide 'Na-sha Mukt Bharat' initiative at Gelnel Higher Secondary School, IT Road, Kangpokpi district.
The event saw enthusiastic participation of over 150 villagers from Tuilang area, reflecting the community's deep concern and collective resolve to tackle drug abuse As a part of the programme, chief medical officer of 112 Bn CRPF, Dr Umashankar Verma, delivered a lecture on drug abuse and its harmful effects oh society, particularly among young people and adolescents.
Highlighting the alarming rise in substance abuse and its devastating consequences for individuals and families, Dr Verma emphasised that the fight against drugs must begin at the grassroots level.
"Today's youth hold the key to a brighter future.
If they fall prey to addiction, our society loses its strength, vision, and future leaders," Dr Verma cautioned.
He urged the young participants to act as torchbearers in the battle not only against drug abuse but also against the rampant illegal poppy cultivation plaguing the region.
Alongside the awareness campaign, a free medical check-up camp was organised where many villagers availed essential health consultations and guidance.
