Thoubal, July 06 2025:
In commemoration of the World Hypertension Day 2025, NCD Cell of the District Health Society, Thoubal, organised a cyclothon on Sunday to spread awareness about hypertension and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Held under the theme "Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer", the event was flagged off from the Thoubal CMO Complex, by NCD Cell district nodal officer Dr M Bikramjit Singh and district programme officer Ch Basanta Singh.
The participants cycled up to the Khongjom War Memorial Complex and returned to the starting point.
Around 30 cyclists took part in the event, carrying the message of preventing hypertension through regular physical activity and healthy living.
Speaking at the event, Dr Bikramjit delivered a health talk, cautioning that hypertension is now common across all age groups, including the young.
"It is important to engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily and sweat it out.
Avoiding drug use is also essential for a long and healthy life," he said.
