Imphal, July 04 2025:
Thongju MLA Thongam Biswajit on Friday joined internally displaced persons (IDPs) from various relief camps in a prayer ceremony at Shree Shree Govindaji Temple in Imphal, seeking divine blessings for their early resettlement.
A community feast was also organised as part of the event, which was held at the same venue where the MLA hosted a similar programme last year.
Biswajit, who has been extending support to displaced families from Moreh and Churachandpur districts, assured the gathering that assistance will continue until they are able to return to their ancestral homes.
He expressed empathy for their suffering and said that the government remains committed to restoring normalcy in the state.
Addressing the displaced families, the MLA said that the central government is actively working towards resolving the crisis and that tangible results are already visible on the ground.
He acknowledged that no one desires such a situation and urged the IDPs to bear the ongoing hardships with patience.
He called on them to cooperate with the government to ensure a swift and peaceful resolution to the crisis.
