CRPF dedicates water harvesting tanks to villagers

Under the aegis of Manipur & Nagaland Sector CRPF IGP, 143 Battalion CRPF handed over newly constructed water harvesting tanks to villagers of Rengpang, Khongsang and Nungba as part of its Civic Action Programme for the year 2024-25.143 Battalion commandant Ravinder Sharma who attended the programmes held separately, as the chief guest, formally handed over the facilities to the villagers in the presence of Battalion's deputy commandant Amaree Prasad and assistant commandants Ksh Binodkumar Singh and K Angambou.
Speaking at the events, commandant Ravinder informed that under the Civic Action Programme, 143 Battalion has been trying to address the needs and requirements of the locals in order to build a good rapport between CRPF and public and thus, maintain synergy.
He stated that the water harvesting tank will provide villagers with clean water for drinking, cooking and other domestic requirements, while adding the tank will also alleviate the burden on women who normally walk along distance to collect water.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to 1.43 battalion for construction of such water harvesting tanks, according to a release of the battalion.
Rengpang village women president Sangiliu Kamei, RYDO Club president Gaithuingam Gangmei, Rengpang church pastor Gaihaklung Gangmei, Khongsang police station second OC ASI Roshan Rongmei, Khongsang village secretary Miuchampou Kamei, Women Society Khongsang president Ludiya Kamei, Catechist church pastor Jonah Rongmei, Nungba SDO Namlalung Gangmei, Nungba police station OC Namding Kamei, Nungba village chairman Gaibilung Kamei, KCCIL project manager Rakesh Ranjan and locals were also present at the programmes.
