Mount Everest College unveils orchidarium

Senapati, July 21 2025: Mount Everest College, Senapati marked a significant milestone in its commitment to environmental conservation and college beautification with the establishment of its own orchidarium on Monday.

The orchidarium aims to house and preserve indigenous orchids, promote awareness about local orchid diversity and beautify the college campus.

With over 33 species of orchids in its collection, the orchidarium is a testament to the college's commitment to conservation.

Unveiling ceremony of the orchidarium was attended by college principal, students and faculty members.

The orchidarium will serve as a hub for learning and research, providing students with hands-on experience in orchid conservation and management.

It will also contribute to college beautification with varied collection of indigenous orchids.

The Orchidarium Committee, Botany Department and Eco Club vowed to continue to rescue, care for, and multiply the orchids in the Orchidarium.

By establishing the orchidarium, Mount Everest College aims to inspire others to take similar steps in preserving natural heritage and promoting environmental awareness among students and the community.
