Imphal, July 20 2025: The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Manipur State Committee has expressed profound sorrow and condolences over the untimely demise of Asem Shanta, former secretary of CPI (M), Mayang Imphal Local Committee and former joint secretary of Manipur Loumee Marup.

According to a release issued by CPI(M), Asem Shanta from Mayang Imphal passed away on July 16, 2025 due to an illness.

He was 44.In his honour, a solemn event was held yesterday at the office of CPI(M), Manipur State Committee.

During the meeting, members of the party observed two minutes of silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.

The gathering also shared the grief & pain of the bereaved family.
