3 cadres of armed outfits arrested

Imphal, July 18 2025:
Security forces reportedly arrested a cadre of proscribed PREPAK identified as Thokchom Yoihenba Singh alias Wangba alias Lion (21) of Thinungei Mamang Leikai, Bishnupur district from Thinungei Mamang Paton under Bishnupur police station.
A statement issued by Manipur police control room informed that Wangba completed 30-day basic military training at Kakching Khunou and was involved in extortion from schools, pharmacies, government offices, doctors and engineers in Bishnupur district and Imphal areas.
He had handed over to his handler an amount of Rs 1,00,000 extortion money.
From his possession, a mobile phone with two SIM cards has been recovered, it added.
Meanwhile, police arrested a cadre of NRFM from Koirengei Awang Potshang-bam Road near Keikol police post, Imphal East district on July 16.The arrested person has been identified as Sorokhaibam Pari Singh alias Ibungo (26) of Senjam Chirang Mayai Leikai under Sekmai police station.
He was involved in abduction for ransom to raise fund for his outfit and transportation of arms and ammunition.
He also played an instrumental role in the movement of cadres of the proscribed outfit within the valley, it continued, adding that a mobile phone and a wallet were seized.
A juvenile cadre of the proscribed RPF/PLA was also arrested from Khongjom Papal under Khongjom police station on July 16.He was involved in extortion activities in Thoubal and Bishnupur districts, as well as in the recruitment of cadres.
A mobile phone with sim card was seized from him.
Necessary actions will be taken up under Juvenile Justice Act, the statement added.
On July 16, security forces recovered one each SLR, .303 rifle with magazine, head gear, walkie-talkie and magazine pouch, five SBBL rifles, 39 rounds of .303, 15 SLR rounds, 35 .303 cartridges, 57 SLR casings, 76 rubber bullets and two bullet proof jackets from adjoining areas of Tatbung village under Tamenglong district and Leingangpokpi village under Jiribam district.
