Rights Day deliberates women empowerment

Assam Rifles celebrated Human Rights Day focusing on women empowerment and the recognition of women's rights at P Laijang village, Chandel district on December 10 .
The programme, which drew participation from 35 women and 18 children, aimed to foster discussions on human rights challenges, particularly those faced by women and marginalised groups.
According to a statement issued by PRO, IGAR (S), the event featured an enlightening lecture that underscored the significance of gender equality, education, and equitable treatment for all.
Through interactive discussions, participants were encouraged to advocate for their rights and take active roles in promoting equality and justice within their communities.
Assam Rifles emphasised the importance of translating global human rights principles into local actions, urging attendees to work collectively toward creating an inclusive society.
The event concluded with a resounding call to.action, inspiring participants to champion human rights advocacy and support one another in fostering equality, the statement added.
