Woman dies in road mishap

Imphal, August 11 2025: A woman riding a Honda Activa died after being run over by a Tata Tipper close to the Hindustan Tiles warehouse at Lamsang on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Ayekpam Sarita Devi (20), d/o Chaoba of Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai.

According to a police report, a Tata Tipper (MN01AA 2243) moving from Iroisemba to Lamsang hit and crushed a blue coloured Honda Activa (MN01A62402) coming from the opposite direction around 4.30 pm Monday.

The rider of the Activa died on the spot.

Lamsang police have arrested driver of the Tata Tipper and registered a case in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, Sarita's body has been deposited at RIMS Morgue for post mortem examination.
