AR conducts anti-drug awareness drive

Imphal, July 10 2025:
In a determined effort to address the growing menace of substance abuse, Assam Rifles organised an interactive awareness session focusing on the misuse of drugs and the pivotal role of rehabilitation centres in combating addiction.
The event, held at Moreh; featured a compelling video presentation and drew participation from approximately 40 individuals, including students, parents and local residents, informed a release issued by PRO IGAR (S).
According to the PRO, the session was designed to educate the community particularly the youth about the grave dangers associated with drug addiction and substance abuse, which can result in severe health complications, psychological disorders, social isolation and an increase in criminal activity.
The importance of earlv intervention was strongly emphasised.
Expert speakers from the medical held, NGOs and individuals who have successfully undergone rehabilitation addressed the gathering, sharing valuable insights into the physical, mental and social consequences of substance abuse.
Attendees were provided with crucial information about local rehabilitation centres, counselling services and helpline support.
Educational materials and awareness posters were distributed to extend the message further within the community, the PRO informed.
