Imphal, May 05 2025: Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive cleanliness drive at Sajik Tampak village in Chandel district as part of its continued commitment to community welfare and environmental sustainability.

In a release PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event witnessed active participation from villagers, village authorities, youth representatives and troops of the Assam Rifles with the aim to instil a sense of keenness towards cleanliness, promote sustainable waste management practices and contribute to a healthier living environment.

This initiative also aligns with government advisories emphasising hygiene and sanitation to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases such as dengue, malaria, and cholera which are common during the pre-monsoon and monsoon periods, said the PRO, adding that Assam Rifles reiterated the importance of cleanliness in combating these health threats and encouraged villagers to maintain hygienic practices in daily life.
