Thoubal, May 28 2025: The first-of-its-kind Model Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC) Centre in the entire Northeast India has been inaugurated at Thoubal District Hospital on Wednesday.

The inaugural function was organised by the Maternal Health Division in collaboration with Thoubal District Hospital and the Institute of Social Research and Development (ISRD).

Speaking at the inauguration programme, dignitaries present highlighted the significance of the initiative, noting that this is the first Model CAC Centre in the northeast region.

They also stressed the need for establishing similar facilities in all district hospitals across the state to strengthen access to safe and comprehensive abortion care.
