Bodies recovered deposited at JNIMS morgue

Imphal, May 22 2025: Bodies of three men were recovered from different locations on Wednesday and Thursday.

As per reports, body of a male was found around 8:30 am Thursday at Awuntang Hungpung, Ukhrul district with injury marks at neck and hand.

The person has been identified as AS Thotshang (44), son of AS Chinaongam of Tashar village, Ukhrul, presently living at Hamleik-hong A Block, Hungpung.

He has been missing since May 20 with his family filing a missing report on Wednesday.

Body of another man was recovered around 3:30 pm on Wednesday from the eastern side of Nithoi Loukon, Nambol.

Identified of the deceased was later established as that of Gurumayum Geetchandra Sharma (60), son of G Kalidash Sharma of Phoijijig Makha Leikai.

The third body was found in a pond near Changangei Kabui Primary School on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Laishram Jiten (50), son of (late) Juge of Malom Makha Leikai.

All the bodies have been depositecfat JNIMS morgue for the post-mortem and investigative purposes.
