Road blocked to protest non-repairing

Thoubal, June 19 2025: The road stretch from NH 102 to Khangabok Sorok Wangma Commando Complex was blocked by locals on Thursday over deplorable condition of the road.

Though the said road serves as an important link for residents of Khangabok and Heiyel Labuk villages, lack of initiative to repair the same has been causing serious inconveniences to the local population, including students and patients.

Speaking to media persons, a woman protester recounted that apart from repeated requests to Khangabok MLA and elected members of the local body, besides submission of a memorandum to former chief minister N Biren highlighting pitiable condition of the road stretch, there has been response.

In protest against the indifferent attitude of authorities concerned, the locals decided to block the road till the commencement of repair work, she reasoned.
