Districts observe World Environment Day

Imphal, June 06 2025: World Environment Day was observed on Thursday in Thoubal, Jiribam and Kakching districts with plantation of tree saplings, awareness on elimination of plastic, poster campaign and cleanliness drive.

In Thoubal district, the day was observedat Thoubal Mini Secretariat Complex, Heirok Part 3 Tourangbam Leikai community hall by Eco Network, Heirok, and at Nongpok Sekmai Shikhong Bazar and NESA Ground by North Eastern Environmental Protection Committee (NEEPC) .

Pari Puri Athouba Ningshing Lup (PPANL) observed the day at Ningshingkhun Biodiversity Park, Jiribam district, while in Kakching district, the observance programmes were held at Padma Ratna English School, Library and Information Centre, Kakching District Court Complex, Chumnang Leikai Machin Manao Chinglak, Angaan Ching, Lamjao Awang Leikai and Makha Leikai playgrounds, Tejpur Awang Leikai ground, Lamjao Mayai Leikai, Keirak Makha Sanlam, Keirak Mayai Leikai and Tekcham.
