Yairipok-Sikhong Sekmai road repairing begins

Thoubal, July 04 2025: Volunteers of Wangkhem Youth Congress Committee on Friday started repair works focused on mending potholes along the stretch from Thoubal Melaground Yairipok Lamkhai to Shikhong Sekmai via Yairipok Keithel.

On the first day of the repair work, the potholes-riddled stretch near Yairipok High School, Yairipok Community Health Centre (CHC) and Yairipok police station was filled with sand and stones.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the repair works, Wangkhem Youth Congress Committee president Moirangthem Robinson said that the deteriorating condition of the roads has caused serious inconvenience to commuters.

To avoid accidents and ensure public safety, the repair work has been undertaken under the guidance of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and Wangkhem MLA K Meghachandra.

According to the committee, the initiative aims to cover the entire Yairipok-Sikhong Sekmai and Yairipok-Thoubal stretches, including areas like Bishnunaha, Siphai Leikai, Singa, Wangkhem Phouden and Melaground Yairipok Lamkhai.
