Imphal, May 28 2025: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has claimed that the talk held at New Delhi on May 27, 2025 between its delegates and officials of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) was fruitful.

Speaking to media persons at Imphal airport today, COCOMI convenor Khuraijam Athouba who led the delegates said that there is no change to COCOMI's position even though the talks were fruitful.

The COCOMI delegates presented detailed accounts of the resolutions adopted at the public convention held on May 3, 2025 and the existing grievances of the people of Manipur before the MHA officials, Athouba said.

He said that COCOMI has been working to submit a detailed report on the resolutions adopted at the people's convention to the Government of India formally.

"We also placed a detailed account on the Gwaltabi issue before the MHA officials", he said.

Apart from raising several issues which the Government of India must acknowledge immediately, the COCOMI delegates also highlighted certain issues like narco-terrorism, illegal immigration and encroachment upon forest areas etc which cannot be compromised, Athouba said.

"All these issues must be resolved by the Government because we did not create these issues nor do we have the power to contain those elements who created these issues", he said.

The Gwaltabi issue cannot be hushed up.

The MHA officials noted the points raised by COCOMI on the issue.

The MHA officials are expected to take the issue to higher authorities, he said.

There is no question of suspending the people's protest movement until a clear result is seen regarding the Gwaltabi issue, he added.
