Stop supping with Kukis : NSCN (IM) to SFs

Imphal, February 24 2026: Alleging that the Assam Rifles troops have been providing logistic, intelligence and military support to the Kuki militants, NSCN (IM) has asked Indian security forces to stop siding with the Kukis and their militant groups immediately.

A statement issued by NSCN(IM) alleged that the Government of India, using the Kuki militants, started a calculated aggression or premeditated violence against the Tangkhul Nagas in Litan, Ukhrul on February 8, 2026 .

The nefarious plots to destroy the Naga political issue to benefit the Kukis were left open for the world to pass judgment.

Since that day, ominous war clouds have gathered over the Naga areas of Manipur, it said.

Questioning as to why AR troops covered their faces with masks during the operation against the Tangkhul Naga civilians, NSCN(IM) alleged that the AR knows too well that they are on the wrong side of the law, violating the rule of impartiality at a time of turmoil of this explosive nature.

It said that security forces were caught on the wrong foot, acting as combatants rather than law enforcers.

This is a blatant violation of the common Article 1 of the Geneva Conventions.

Requiring no further explanation, this is a crime against humanity as AR were caught furnishing logistical, intelligence, or military support to the Kuki militants, it alleged.

NSCN (IM) also accused the Indian security forces of permitting Kuki militant groups to target civilians without the fear of prosecution as seen in the Litan burning incident.

The typical defence tactics of the Kukis to resort to historical revisionism or falsification is open for the world to see as the Kuki intellectuals manipulate or change the narrative of history to suit a modern agenda, often silencing the original, authentic ancestral story, it said.

The Kukis even claimed that they are one of the lost tribes of Israel.

But this claim finds no support from DNA test.

The world must distinguish between wartime propaganda and the historical truth of the events, NSCN (IM) asserted.

It alleged that Kuki armed groups under SoO (Suspension of Operation) receive training, weapons, logistical support and financial support from the Government of India.

The State actors have been protecting the Kuki militants from legal prosecution for their crimes against the Nagas.

Under the pretext of SoO , the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has been paying stipend to the Kuki militants (KNO and UPF) regularly without any check on their unruly activities that goes against the spirit of SoO.

They are given free hands to move around with arms as if they are part of the State security structure, the Naga insurgent group remarked.

The demands of all the Kuki militant groups is for Kuki homeland in the form of Union Territory or any type of separate administration without anything to share with the Nagas and the Meiteis.

With this objective in view, the Kuki militants have not fired a single bullet against the Indian security forces.

Kuki militant organizations like KNO/KNA, KNF, KRA etc have been operating against the NSCN in collaboration with the Indian security forces, it alleged.

NSCN(IM) further alleged that the Kuki militant groups have been going so aggressive against the Nagas only because of the blessings of the Government of India.

The Kuki organizations themselves openly propagate in the social media platforms that peaceful approach to their political aspirations is ruled out.

This is the sinister design drawn by the Government of India for the Kukis, it said.

Under this situation, it will be so naive for NSCN to remain as a mere spectator but to defend the Naga people, their properties and land.

It will be a fatal mistake to go on testing the nerves of the NSCN.

Truth be told that Indian security forces should stop immediately siding with the Kukis and their militant groups, the Naga insurgent group asserted.

"When we said, we will stand the ground, it signifies our God given duty to fight for justice at all cost.

This is the brutal truth that the world should be educated and informed lest the malicious propaganda of the Kuki organizations is taken at face value", it said.

NSCN(IM) asserted that Kukis are by nature pathological liars and often lie to create a false history, gain sympathy, or dramatize events.

Many of the history books written by the Kuki intellectuals and scholars have gained notoriety as it has become impossible to trust as they are known as pathological liars, fabricating or falsifying research materials, it said.

It asserted that history cannot be built on lies.

NSCN(IM) said that the Government of India continues to follow the footsteps of the British India Government to use the Kuki nomadic tribe to counter the legitimate Naga political rights in the most despicable manner, blatantly using her security forces.
