Stage set for Muivah's grand reception

Following the approval from the government of the People's Republic of Nagalim for the proposed home visit of Ato Kilonser Th Muivah to Somdal village, the Tangkhul community is elated and all are enthusiastic to host a grand reception ceremony at the district headquarters ground, Wino Bazar, Ukhrul, on October 22 .
Tangkhul CSOs comprising all frontal organisations (TNL, TSL, TKS, TMNL, TNAL and the four zones) are now busy with preparations to host the grand reception honouring the homecoming of the "son of the soil," Thuingaleng Muivah, in the most splendid manner.
Ukhrul town folks from different walks of life are working hectically to clean and beautify the town, with mural paintings of Muivah, erection of flyers, construction of a welcome gate, and a stage for the grand reception programme.
Speaking to this correspondent, president of Tangkhul Shanao Long (Tangkhul Women League) Thingreiphy Lungharwo expressed that they want to serve Muivah the best Tangkhul cuisine for his exceptional services in strengthening the Naga National movement.
A tinder-lighting (Meifa Shatkharung) programme is also planned across Tangkhul villagers to show their support for Ato Kilonser Th Muivah.
The Ukhrul/Hunphun villagers have also constructed a monolith at Kasomtang junction in honour of Thuingaleng Muivah's historic home visit after 50 years.
It might be mentioned that Th Muivah is given Z-plus security, and necessary security arrangements have been beefed up in the district headquarters to ensure foolproof security during his visit to his native village, Somdal.
Numerous civil society organisations from both the hills and valley of Manipur have conveyed their messages welcoming the Naga leader Th Muivah's visit to his birthplace, Somdal village.
Meanwhile, co-convener of reception committee RS Jollyson said the homecoming ceremony is all set and ready for celebration at district headquarters ground at Wino Bazar, Ukhrul.
He said all media persons covering the reception programme for Th Muivah must undergo mandatory security clearance.
According to him, a media briefing will be held on October 22 around 8.30 at TNL complex hall at Wino Bazar, Ukhrul.
All cameras and other accessories will be thoroughly checked, after which clearance and media passes will be issued to them.
Flying of drones will not be permitted in Ukhrul town during the programme.
According to reliable sources, the entourage of Th Muivah will be accompanied by a team of high ranking officers of GPRN including Deputy Ato Kilonser Atem Vashum.
