Noney, July 17 2025:
Two major landslide-affected stretches at Awangkhul along National Highway-37 were successfully cleared today around 11.30 am, restoring the movement of vehicles stranded on both sides since last night.
The initial landslide debris was cleared early in the morning, allowing temporary passage.
However, a brief spell of rain triggered another mudslide, once again halting traffic.
With relentless efforts of the construction company, the debris was finally cleared and traffic resumed around 11.30 am today.

Heavy landslide/mudslide might occur again if heavy rains continue to lash the region.
The Noney District Police team also rushed to the site and extended necessary assistance in traffic control and public safety.
In a commendable humanitarian gesture, the Awangkhul Village Authority, Khunbu and Khullak units.
Assumption Catholic Church, and Youth Club had jointly arranged food, lodging, and even phone charging facilities for stranded passengers from both directions.
The travellers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Awangkhul and local CSO leaders for their warm hospitality and timely support during the crisis.
