Imphal, May 17 2026: Chief Minister Yumnam Khem-chand Singh has reviewed the progress of the ongoing improvement work of Imphal-Saikul road this evening.

It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister himself flagged off the road improvement project on March 14, this year.

Khemchand was briefed on the progress and the current status of the road development work by Chongtham Bishwachandra, the Chief Engineer of Public Works Department, CM's Secretariat said in a statement.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials concerned to ensure timely completion of the road while strictly adhering to the quality and standard.

On his way to the inspection site, Khemchand was greeted and welcomed by the members of different local clubs and residents of Pangei and Khundrakpam area, the statement said.

He was apprised of the grievances and hardships being faced by the locals and drew his attention to the need for improvement of basic amenities in the area.

While interacting with the people, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome being accorded to him.

He assured them that all avenues for development would be explored to ensure the welfare of the public.
