Ukhrul, May 15 2025: Ukhrul District Working Journalists' Association (UDWJA) has announced that it will once again host journalists from across Manipur who are visiting the district to cover the upcoming State-Level Shirui Lily Festival cum 75th anniversary, scheduled to take place from May 20 to 24 in Ukhrul district.

According to a release by UDWJA secretary Mingyashin Shaiza, as part of this annual initiative which has been successfully carried out since 2018, to ensure meaningful coverage of the state festival, visiting journalists will be provided with complimentary food and accommodation throughout the festival days.

The hosting arrangement will accommodate up to 50 journalists per day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Journalists intending to avail this service are requested to notify and confirm their visit latest by 12 pm the day before.

They are also requested to come along with their valid press ID cards for the necessary registration process.

Visiting journalists are required to submit links/clippings of their published reports/articles on the festival during or after the celebration depending on when they are published.

This submission will help us document the festival's coverage in our archive as part of the initiative, said the release.

Through this initiative, UDWJA aims to create a conducive environment for journalists to experience and report on the vibrant celebrations of the Shirui Lily Festival, while also strengthening ties within the media fraternity across the state.
