VKSA campaign reaches 11,342 farmers of Thoubal and Kakching

Thoubal, June 12 2025:
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Thoubal on its 10th day of the ongoing Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan aiming at empowering farmers and transforming district Agriculture and Allied sector, visited 9 villages viz., Kangthokchao, Kangyambem, Heirok part-1, Heirok Pt-2, Chingdompok, Kangdabi, Shikhong, Bengi & Sora covering 1104 farmers.
Under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, KVK Thoubal has been organizing a series of programs and activities designed to disseminate advanced agricultural practices, promote sustainable farming, and introduce innovative technologies to the local farming community.
These initiatives are crucial for achieving the vision of a developed and prosperous agricultural sector.
The day 10 of the campaign includes, Farmer awareness about various Government schemes (PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Crop Insurance Scheme, PMKSY, RKVY, SMAM, Livestock insurance etc), Improved crop varieties and kharif crop protection., Capacity Building for integrated pest management, soil health management, organic farming, and post-harvest management.
The campaign also includes, Group dynamics for promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to enhance collective bargaining power and market access for farmers, Direct Interaction to farmers for collecting critical challenges and provide on-the-spot solutions, and PPVFRA for registration of indigenous varieties by the farmer.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr S Zeshmarani, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Thoubal stated that Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is a pivotal step towards ensuring Agricultural and Allied sector prosperity and enhancing the livelihoods of the farmers.
He stated that Krishi Vigyan Kendra Thoubal is fully committed to this mission and is working tirelessly to bring the benefits of scientific Agriculture to every comer of the district, and urged all farmers to actively participate in these programs and leverage the resources available to them.
During the village visit, Wahengbam Chaoyaima Singh, Chairperson Administrative Committee 12-Kang Yambem GP Thoubal district expressed heartfelt gratitude to scientists from ICAR NEH Imphal centre, CAU Imphal, line departments of Agriculture and allied of Thoubal district and KVK Thoubal for organising Pre-Kharif Campaign entitle: Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan.
He also expressed gratitude to the line departments for giving awareness on various scheme such as PMKSY, Soil Health Card, RKVY, SMAM, PMMSY etc and for their timely distribution of critical inputs like seed and subsidies fertilizer including timely collection of soil samples and distribution of Soil Health Card.
