Political parties ready for Delhi trip

On the twin issue of protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur and to hand over senior functionary of the NSCN (IM), Livingstone Anal to the State Government, representatives of 14 political parties are set to leave for Delhi on January 16 and meet the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister.
Towards this end, an all political party meeting, attended by representatives of 14 political parties was held at the office chamber of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam today evening.
During the meeting it was decided that the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister would be sounded on the need to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur as well as to effect the hand over of S/S Lt Col of the NSCN (IM) Livingstone Anal.
The senior NSCN (IM) functionary has been accused of molesting a film actress at Chandel on December 18 as well as opening fire at two others.
With Chief Minister O Ibobi in Delhi, the meeting decided that though it has been decided that memoranda will be submitted to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister to press home the two demands, a final decision on the contents of the memoranda will be taken after meeting the Chief Minister.
The team will leave for Delhi under the Deputy Chief Minister and once there the Chief Minister will lead the political delegates in meeting the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister.
Though the meeting date with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister is yet to be decided, no efforts would be spared to meet them by January 20.Flight tickets have been booked for the delegates to proceed to Delhi on January 16.Representatives from, BJP, CPI, CPI (M), MPP, MSCP, JD (U), JD (S), NCP, BSP, Shiv Sena, AIFB, AITC and LJP attended today's meeting.
