BJP demands President's Rule in State

Imphal, September 09 2011:
A high level BJP delegation led by its National spokesperson and MP Prakash Javadekar today called on the Governor of Manipur Gurbachan Jagat at Raj Bhavan here today and submitted a memorandum demanding imposition of President's Rule in the State over alleged failure of the present Government in resolving the Sadar hills impasse.
Other members of the delegation include National general secretary of the party Tapir Gao, Zonal organisation secretary (NE States) P Chandrasekhar, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Sh Shantikumar Sharma, vice president Prof S Tiken Singh and vice president S Ibohal Singh.
After meeting the Governor, Javadekar, who is also in charge of State election, met leaders of various Opposition parties at Hotel Imphal to discuss formation of a united alliance of the Opposition parties in the State.
Earlier, Javadekar and other National leaders of the party who arrived here in the morning today participated in a joint meeting of the State office bearers and aspiring candidates for forthcoming Assembly election at the Nityapat Chuthek party office.

Later in the day, a core committee meeting of BJP was also held at Hotel Imphal.
In the said meeting, the party resolved to defeat Congress and CPI in the forthcoming Assembly election and render helping hands to other like-minded political parties in the State in this regard.
Javadekar and his team would be opening a 3-day long residential Mahila Morch training camp at the State unit party office at 10.30 pm tomorrow.
Before leaving Imphal at 5 pm tomorrow, Javadekar will also address a press meet at 2.30 pm.
