Imphal, May 07:
The proscribed KCP-MC has declared it would cease levying tax on kerosene oil or demand its quota on the essential item taking into account interest of the general public.
A statement issued by the banned outfit's propaganda, communication and technical officer Tamnganba, however cautioned the agents to ensure that the general consumers get the essential items at the specified quantity (litres) and price.
In case any agent is found to have tampered with the quantity or price stringent action would be initiated, Tamnganba said while expressing that inspite of allegations of UG groups siphoning off the public's kerosene quota it is the dealers and agents that diverts the item to traders at exorbitant rate.
involvement of Ministers and concerned officials leading to artificial scarcity of the essential item could not ruled out, the KCP (MC) maintained.
Observing that the meagre share pocketed by the UG groups regularly comes under public scrutiny even though the same is to be distributed to the public, Tamnganba pondered why is the general masses remaining silent despite knowing that high ranking officials are most responsible for the artificial scarcity.
He further clarified that all complaints and positive suggestion on the matter would be warmly welcomed by the KCP but it will be naive to expect the armed group to be lenient when anti-revolutionary elements instigate the public against the organisation.
on the otherhand, the KCP-MC asked chairman of Maphou Dam Construction Area Committee Mangboi, general secretary Winner Jajo and joint secretary BP to give in to the party in two days' time apart from prohibiting either the Committee's functioning or holding of office bearer election until the matter had been settled amicably.
In case of defying the restriction harsh action could not be ruled out, it cautioned.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement issued by Tamnganba today the proscribed KCP (MC) offered revolutionary salute to its slain cadre Md Jimi alias Keny who was slain by security force personnel recently.
The outfit also announced that death penalty against Executive Engineer of PHED, Senapati Division Ningombam Gambhir has been revoked taking into account public sentiment.
