Imphal, July 28 2025:
Manipur Technical University (MTU) on Monday hosted a MoU signing ceremony at its conference hall, formalising collaborations with six colleges to enhance environmental sustainability and resource management.
The six institutions that signed the pact with MTU are Chanambam Ibomcha (CI) College, Bishnupur; Imphal College, Imphal; DM College of Teacher Education, Imphal; L Sanoi College, Nambol; Modern College, Imphal; and Kha-Manipur College, Kakching.
Under the agreements, MTU will provide specialised services in green audit and groundwater detection.
The green audit will involve a comprehensive assessment covering energy, water, solid waste, and e-waste management aimed at developing sustainable campuses, while the groundwater detection service will utilise advanced PQWT-TC900 technology for precise aquifer mapping and borewell site identification.
These initiatives are designed to support compliance with NAAC Criterion 7.1.6, AICTE Environmental Policy, and UGC Green Campus Guidelines, thereby aiding partner colleges in accreditation readiness and sustainable development.
MTU also announced a roadmap for expanding consultancy and technical services, including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for structural health assessment, Geodetic Survey and Cadastral Mapping integrated with GIS-based planning tools, preparation of Master Plan Layouts for academic and infrastructure development, and digital literacy and ICT-based programmes for campus modernisation.
MTU registrar Ramananda Nongmeikapam, in his address, underscored the university's commitment to leveraging technology and expertise to support institutional growth.
He explained how these collaborations will strengthen accreditation metrics while promoting sustainable development practices.
Principals of the participating colleges expressed enthusiasm over finalising the deal and optimism of its long-term benefits.
