BTU Environment Conclave, 2025 conducted

Bir Tikendrajit University (BTU) organised the 'BTU Environment Conclave, 2025' on Thursday in commemoration of the World Environment Day, 2025 under the theme 'Combatting Plastic Pollution'.
The conclave was attended by BTU pro-vice chancellor Dr Pawan Kumar Choudhary, DM College of Science former principal Dr Elangbam Jadu Singh, and CSIR-NEIST, Lamphelpat chief scientist Dr Huidrom Birkumar Singh as the presidium members.
Dr Birkumar also gave a presentation on 'Scope of Bioprospecting and Bioeconomy in Manipur: A few viable technologies of CSIR-NEIST' along with encouraging the younger generation to pursue entrepreneurship as an inspiring career path.
He also stressed the importance of exploring the state's unique bio-resources.
According to a release, BTU registrar Dr Pradeep Kumar Dey, in vote of thanks, stated that the primary objective of the conclave is to establish a dynamic forum for students, academicians, researchers, environmentalists, policymakers, and community leaders to discuss urgent environmental issues.
The conclave also included poster presentations for environmental protection and the fight against plastic pollution, which was participated by the varsity students from different departments.
Cash awards and certificates were given to the first, second, and third position holders.
