Imphal, October 20 2022: To mark the celebration of 'Jal Shakti Abhiyan', Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bishnupur organised a Kisan mela cum awareness programme at its campus on October 18.The mela cum awareness programme was attended by Utlou GP pradhan N Sharat Singh, BJP Kisan Morcha Bishnupur district president K James, exunion minister and KVK Bishnupur for Jal Shakti Abhiyan programme chairman Th Chaoba as presidium members.

Speaking as resource person, KVK Scientist Agronomy) Dr Sakhen Sorokhaibam explained about 'Water Use Efficiency of Rabi Crops' and stressed the importance of effective water management through crop planning and water conservation in the rain-fed agricultural land.

The farmers were apprised about the micro-irrigation systems, rain water harvesting, water conservation, appropriate crops, and efficient water management for livestock & aquaculture.

Method demonstrations on Millet cultivation and Demonstration of Small Farm Implements were also conducted during the event.
