Assam Rifles conducts health outreach in 3 districts

Assam Rifles conducted a series of health-centric outreach programmes in Tengnoupal, Kakching and Kamjong districts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), on Wednesday, an awareness session on hygiene and sanitation was organised in Ngahmun village, Tengnoupal district to sensitise the local residents on the importance of personal and community hygiene in preventing disease and fostering healthier living conditions.
Following the interaction, a medical camp was conducted where essential medicines and hygiene supplies were distributed.
Simultaneously, at Serou village in Kakching district, Assam Rifles marked observances of World Humanitarian Day and World Mosquito Day with a medical camp and an anti-mosquito drive.
The medical camp provided free health check-ups, preventive care guidance, and essential medicines to villagers with limited access to healthcare.
In another anti-mosquito drive, fogging was carried out in and around the Serou relief camp, mosquito repellents distributed to the residents, and an awareness sessions on vector-borne disease prevention conducted.
On Tuesday, Assam Rifles extended its outreach to Sorde village in Kamjong district - one of the most remote regions in the state.
Organised by the Shangshak Battalion, the medical camp catered to 117 villagers across all age groups, offering comprehensive health checkups, free medicines and basic medical care, said the PRO .
