Sit-in backs VDFs' demands

Kakching, May 17 2025: A sit-in protest was staged by meira paibi activists of Heirok Part-III Inganglok at the locality on Friday in solidarity with demand of the VDF personnel.

Speaking to media persons at the protest venue, one L Nanao Leima reminded all concerned that the VDF personnel have been playing a major role in maintaining of law and order in Manipur.

With VDF personnel in other districts already on 'gun down' agitation since Thursday in pursuance of their demands, VDF personnel deployed at Inganglok are pondering to leave their duty post, subsequently resulting in apprehension among the villagers that Kuki terrorists may attack the village taking advantage of the fluid situation, she maintained.

Denouncing the government's indifferent attitude to the genuine demands of the VDFs as unacceptable and expressing fear that the Kuki terrorists might launch attack anytime, Nanao appealed to the government to honour the demands of the VDFs as they too are working at par with the police, MR and IRB for safety and security of the state.
