Heavy vehicles blamed for damaging road, banned

Thoubal, July 15 2025: Youth Development Club, Heirok Litan Wangma and Inganglok Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Youth Club along with local meira paibi groups announced ban on movement of heavy vehicles along the Heirok Part-3 Litan Wangma to Inganglok road with immediate effect to protest alleged sub-standard road repair work executed in February.

The locals clubs and meira paibi groups blamed movement of heavy vehicles, especially Hydra dumpers transporting boulders/ stones extracted From river beds, tor damage caused to the road, and causing serious inconveniences to farmers and villagers of Litan Wangma and Inganglok.

To prevent further deterioration of condition of the road, a joint meeting of local clubs and meira paibi groups resolved to prohibit movement of the heavy vehicles, and cautioned that anybody defying the ban shall have to face the consequences.

The meeting participants also appealed to the authority concerned to initiate relevant process for fresh repairing of the road.
