KU hosts Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect on IYD

Imphal, August 12 2025: Khongnangthaba University on Tuesday organised Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme (VBUYCP) to mark International Youth Day, aiming to channel students' energy towards livelihoods, research, creativity, and civic service, informed a statement issued by the University.

The programme, chaired by its registrar Dr Atom Sunil Singh, featured Pro VC Prof RK Gambhir as chief guest and commanding officer of 1 (Manipur) Air Squadron NCC squadron leader M Sandip Singh as guest of honour.

Popular Manipuri actor and makeup artist Jenny Khurai and renowned traditional singer Oinam Chanchan Devi also shared their success stories.

M Sandip highlighted how NCC training fosters discipline, teamwork, and leadership, opening career opportunities such as the Indian Air Force's NCC special entry in the flying branch.

Prof Gambhir stressed the university's role in transforming curiosity into capability.

Jenny Khurai encouraged youth to view creative skills as sustainable careers, while Oinam Chanchan spoke of her lifelong commitment to preserving Manipuri music.

Dr Atom Sunil Singh outlined hands-on career pathways, integrating skills development, research, and creative entrepreneurship.
