Imphal, July 06 2025: An awareness programme on child protection and related laws was held at Heinoukhong village under Machi Block in Tengnoupal district on Sunday as part of the ongoing Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign 2025 .

The programme organised by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Tengnoupal, in collaboration with Tuishiwar Village Level Federation and FORD NGO aims to sensitise the local community, stakeholders and grassroots institutions about issues concerning child rights and the legal frameworks in place to protect them.

Addressing the gathering, district child protection officer (Tengnoupal) Devavrata Sharma appealed to all stakeholders including village authorities, community leaders, teachers, parents and youth to take a more proactive and vigilant role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.

He stressed that child protection is a shared responsibility for everyone, and urged for stronger community participation in reporting, preventing and responding to violations against children.
