Slow Loris rescued, released in the wild

Kakching, May 05 2025:
A Slow Loris was rescued and released in the wild by a team of Chandel Forest Department officials led by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Dr Naorem Munal.
The animal was released in the deep forest of Chanrangching after being rescued from Kakching Maning hill, on Sunday.
The rare primate was first spotted by BSF personnel stationed at the District Court Complex, Kakching.
Upon discovering the animal, the BSF personnel promptly alerted forest officials, who responded swiftly.
The Chandel forest team, under the leadership of Dr Munal, rescued the Slow Loris and later released it into its natural habitat.
In a separate incident, an owl found at Sora Makha Leikai was handed over to the Forest Department at Kakching Lamkhai by All Sora Clubs' Coordinating Committee (AS-CCOC) information secretary Md Zakir Hussain on Sunday.
