Similarly, Meitei Community Joint Co-ordinating Committee, a joint body of 18 clubs of Waithou, Kiyam, Kiyam Siphai, Haokha and Thoubal Khunou, organised a sit-in protest at Babu Bazar condemning continuous arrest of Ws in valley area by SFs after imposition of PR in the state.
Speaking to media persons at the protest, Committee's treasurer Kh Inaocha and Women Wing secretary Pebam Indrani asserted that considering the reason behind of emergence of VVs, there should be no arrest of VVs in valley area under the name of PR.
They also emphasised that Governor's appeal for surrendering of arms in seven days by Ws should be implemented only after the present ethnic conflict is resolved, after which the women will themselves collect all the weapons and surrender it to the government.
Stressing that they will not accept the appeal for surrendering of arms till the ongoing crisis is settled, they demanded that a new government should be formed at the earliest so that the PR can be revoked.
