Sit-in decries bomb threat at contractor's residence

Imphal, June 19 2025: Unidentified miscreants placed a hand grenade at the gate of special contractor Ningombam Babu Singh at Okram Maning Leikai under Thoubal police station on Thursday morning.

According to local sources, the explosive device was spotted by family members while sweeping the premises around 6 am.

The motive behind the act and the identity of those responsible remain unknown.

Following the incident, meira paibi activists and residents of Okram Maning Leikai staged a sit-in protest at the local community hall, to condemn the bomb threat.

Speaking at the protest venue, meira paibi activist Okram Manorama strongly condemned the planting of explosives in residential areas and urged the concerned party to clarify the motive behind the act at the earliest.

Protesters held placards bearing messages such as "Threatening the public is condemned", "Placing bombs in residential areas is condemned", and "We condemn placing bombs at local houses.
