HERICOUN foundation day celebrated in Jiribam

Jiribam, May 16 2025: Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN), Jiribam District Council celebrated its 23rd foundation day at Jiribam Municipality multi-purpose hall, here, on Friday, The foundation day celebration was attended by social activist N Budhachandra Singh as chief guest, HERICOUN Jiribam president Senjam Sainik Kumar Singh as functional president and Women Association for Socio Economic & Development (WASED), Jiribam president N Nivarani Devi, Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak, Jiribam vice president Phundai Rongmei and Young Manipuri Council, Assam president Ngangom Romen as guests of honour.

In his brief address, N Budhachandra called upon civil society organisations working to safeguard and promote culture and traditions of Manipur while cautioning that failure to stem decline of such intangible assets would cause irreparable damage to the society.

A prize distribution programme for the district level quiz competition 'Khangminnasi Eramdam' was also held in connection with the foundation day celebration.

Gifts and appreciation certificates were presented to journalists acknowledging their work for the welfare of the land.
