DC orders road, footpath clearance by Jul 21

Imphal, July 14 2025: Bishnupur DC has issued an order directing the removal of all unauthorised structures, construction materials, and debris along roads and footpaths across the district by July 21 .

According to the order issued Monday, the district administration has observed widespread encroachment in the form of illegal house extensions, sheds, shops, and accumulation of sand, stones, and waste along National and State Highways, inter-district and inter-village roads, and footpaths.

These obstructions are causing public inconvenience and posing safety hazards to commuters.

The order warned that failure to comply with the order would result in strict penal action, including eviction and demolition.

The district administration, along with police and line departments, will carry out removals, and the costs will be borne by the encroachers if they are not removed by the deadline.
