Kpi, July 11 2025: Presidency College, Motbung, the only government college in Kangpokpi district, celebrated its 52nd Foundation Day on the theme 'Celebrating legacy, embracing future' at the college.

Established in 1973, Presidency College has been a beacon of higher education in the district, nurturing countless students who have gone on to make a mark in various fields.

The college campus came alive with vibrant festivities as faculty members, students, alumni, and well-wishers gathered to honour over five decades of academic excellence and community service.

The celebration was held in two sessions - a formal session in the morning followed by a recreational session in the afternoon.

The formal session began with a solemn pledge led by College principal Dr S Kipgen reaffirming the institution's commitment to educational excellence and holistic development.

The event was attended by former principals, founding members, alumni, retired and current faculty members, staff and a large number of students.

In his keynote address, Dr Kipgen paid tributes to founding members of the college particularly its founding principal late Henkholen Sitlhou, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for college's present status.

Dignitaries and speakers highlighted the transformative journey of the college, its milestones and enduring impact of the college in the region.
