Langsai Thouna celebrates second anniversary

The 2nd foundation day celebration of Langsai Thouna, formed in 2023 amid the Meetei-Kuki conflict in the state, was held at on Wednesday at the Kakching Moirangthem Leikai residence of its convener Kshetrimayum Rajiv.
The programme was attended by MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam as chief guest, and jointly presided over by Kakching Municipality Board former president Kshetrimayum Chaoba Singh and Padma Ratna English School, Kakching retired headmaster Naorem Purnima Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Bimol criticised creation of de-facto 'buffer zone' in Manipur, which he termed as a surreptitious policy to suppress and demoralise the Meetei community to eventually balkanise the territorial integrity of the state.
Alleging that the 'buffer zone' is a creation to target the Meeteis, he stressed the need for the people to dissect such hidden agenda and raise their voices to expose such nefarious policies.
In his address, Langsai Thouna convenor Rajiv recalled that the organisation was formed on July 2, 2023 by the youth to launch and join public movement aftermath of the Kuki-Meetei crisis in the state.
Stating that the organisation has been in passive mode for some time, the convenor asserted that Lansai Thouna will never back off in case of any threat posed to the state and the people.
