Imphal, June 30 2025: The Official Language Cell of Manipur University organised a one-day workshop on "Official Language Policy and Its Implementation" at Court Hall of Manipur University on Monday.

Attending the event as chief guest, Manipur University VC Prof N Lokendra said that almost every government department is using Hindi in its entire works.

He explained that being a central university, all resolutions adopted by the Academic Council and Executive Council of Manipur University are being translated into Hindi, including all the necessary filing works.

He, however, noted that there is a still a need to further promote the official language in all spheres of the university, and informed that UGC is looking into the matter.

The workshop was also attended by School of Humanities and Environmental Science dean Professor S Jibonkumar as president with MU finance officer in-charge Prof M Premjit and Department of Hindi assistant Prof Dr Ch Ingo as guests of honour.
