Project Pranita: BSF launches skill development initiative for girls in Manipur with Marriott Group

In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering young girls through skill development, the Border Security Force (BSF) in collaboration with the Marriott Group has launched "Project Pranita" in Manipur.
According to a release issued by PRO Ftr HQ BSF M&C, the project was officially flagged off by Ravi Kant, IPS, IG BSF, and Sanjay Gupta, Head of Marriott World Wide Business Council, during ceremonies held at BSF Sector Headquarters, Koirengei, Imphal on July 23 and at Gospel Centenary Hall, Churachandpur on July 24.The flag-off events witnessed the presence of several dignitaries from the Civil, CAPF, and Army sectors.
Notably, 45 girls from Meitei, Naga, and Kuki communities, accompanied by their parents, were present at the event.
These girls have been selected to participate in the project through a transparent and inclusive selection process.
"Project Pranita" is an initiative that aligns with BSF's continued effort to foster peace, stability, and welfare in Manipur through various civic action programmes.
With the aim of offering skill-based training and practical exposure to the hospitality sector, the initiative targets economically disadvantaged girls from all communities in the State.
It also supports the National 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' mission by focusing on quality training, formal education, and employment generation in collaboration with the Marriott Hotel Chain.
As part of the programme, the selected candidates will be enrolled in a fully sponsored 3-year B.A.in Tourism studies from IGNOU.
In addition, they will receive hands-on training in 5-star Marriott Hotels across the country.
The training will cover hotel operations, department rotations, professional mentorship, and specialization.
Participants will receive monthly stipends ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 along with uniforms, meals, accomodation, paid leave, insurance, and job placement support after course completion.
Project Pranita stands as a testament to BSF's dedication towards inclusive development and peace-building in Manipur, opening doors for young girls to build successful futures in the hospitality industry.
