Johnstone HSS distributes meritorious awards

Imphal, July 21 2025:
Johnstone Higher Secondary School held its 2025-26 awards distribution ceremony recognising meritorious students of the school for their outstanding academic performance in the Higher Secondary Examination 2025 and Class XI examinations.
Multiple memorial and departmental awards were conferred on toppers across various streams.
Thokchom Akash Singh of Science stream, who scored 395 out of 500, emerged as the most decorated student receiving the Kalachand Shastri Memorial Award, Gurumayum Niranjan Sharma Meritorious Cash Award, Konjengbam Gouro Memorial Award, awards sponsored by the 1999 XII Batch of the school, and Mathematics and Biology departments.
He also received the All Stream Topper award sponsored by L Nandakumari Devi.
In the Arts stream, Gurumayum Luckychand Sharma and Wonder Thiumei, both scoring 367 out of 500, shared top honours.
They were jointly awarded Kalachand Shastri Memorial Award, Gurumayum Niranjan Sharma Meritorious Cash Award, Konjengbam Gouro Memorial Award, and Laikangbam Mangol Singh Memorial Award.
Wonder Thiumei was also recognised as the Philosophy subject topper in the state-level examination conducted by COHSEM and received a cash award from the Education Department.
In Commerce, Mangalsana Akoijam scored 302 out of 500 and received multiple awards including Kalachand Shastri Memorial Award, Gurumayum Niranjan Sharma Meritorious Cash Award, and Konjengbam Gouro Memorial Award.
He was also featured in the toppers' list of several other sponsored awards.
Other highlights included Lisham Premchand Meritorious Cash Award for Avinash Konsam, who secured 390 in Science, and state-level recognition for Nahakpam Lanthoiba Meetei as the Geology subject topper with a score of 83 .
The ceremony also acknowledged achievements in Class XI and individual subject awards sponsored by alumni batches, departmental heads, and faculty members.
The Geography, Physics, Chemistry, History, Political Science, Com merce, English, Education, Mathematics, Biology, and Computer Science
departments recognised subject toppers with cash awards.
